Autumn Dance
Autumn comes swirling
her skirts of many hues
Dancing on the
melody of the wind
Every pirouette leaves
a splash of red and gold
A dash of ochre and
cinnamon to blend...
She mirrors her reflection
upon the lakes and streams
Breathtaking beauty dancing
along the rivers edge
The splendor of autumn
is found in artists dreams
Each dip and twirl
gives summer a nudge
As the days of autumn
slow to her final bow
Her colors float to the
ground in shredded ribbons
Harvested by the rakes
of boisterous children
Eager to bid her farewell now
