Grandma's Kitchen Table
Grandma's Kitchen Table
Grandma always had a full table
Everyday there would be a new place setting
She never cared if your name was John or Mabel
If you knocked on her door
There was always room for one more
Times were hard back then
And money was scarce
But if you knocked , you'd hear C'mon In
I'm in the kitchen, sit a spell my friend
She had a garden every year
That fed folk's far and near
Her heart was always open
And folk's.. loved her dear
Seven days a week she was always the same
Never met a stranger but once
After that she would remember you and your name
King or pauper you were always welcome
To stop by for dinner or lunch
Her favorite saying was
Cast your bread upon the waters
God helps me and now
It's my turn to help others
What a wonderful world we could have
If only there were more like her
Can you imagine ..
A world with more love and no world hunger
A special place in heaven
The Lord had for her
Upon His kitchen table
There's a sign reads
GRANDMA -Reserved
For all my lambs you have served
