Humbling Rose
As twilight began to cast
I saw the shadow upon the rose
It seemed so sad dusk had past
And another day had come to a close
I touched the velvet petals so soft
And felt the pain it had bourne
To become the beauty that it was
The struggle it had survived to be born
I thought once to pluck and shelter in a vase
Just then my hand it pricked by thorn
Reminding me ..it was not my choice or place
To decide it's final fate
Best left to the Master Gardener
I walked away in humbled state
A lesson taught..by a humbling rose
