Two Of Me
Upon my face you can see two of me
One is of Irish
And one is Cherokee
Within my blood I carry the best of both
When I hear the drums of my ancestors
There is a bagpipe that cries a sad melody
Because the two clans both suffered
Fought and dies in deaths comraderie
Within me I carry the blood of
Ancients of two worlds
Proud I am that there is two of me
One of Irish and one of Cherokee
We are a proud people and have faced
the worlds many tragedy,
Two cultures, one heart blended in harmony
Many years ago the Cherokee
reached across the sea
With an open heart and hand
and answered a plea
To those that had nothing
they gave love and honesty
For they two had walked the same roads
And struggled to survive life's tragedies
From the Emerald Isle
my grandfather came to wed
his bride of Cherokee
And that my friend is why..
you see two of me....
