I remember the picture ..
It hung upon our family home wall
As a child I use to be afraid of it
It was Grandmothers favorite one of all
The eyes would follow me around the room
I felt the Presence of the Saviour
As past Him I would zoom
Looking up at Him.from far below
at the age of five ..
running as fast as I could go
Grandmother would tell me never fear
The Lord is watching over you dear
My family always revered the Word
She would hush my fears and dry my tears
While I feeling kind of foolish and absurd
She would tell me of Jesus and the things He did
Of the time of flood and the olive branch
And the snow white bird
Of how He would tell the little children
Of their Father on high
The One that lived way up in the sky
How one day we would all meet
In the sweet by and by..
Now that I am old and looking toward my sunset
I look over at that picture of Him
And know He still ...watches over me yet..
