Winds Of March
Winds of March are like no other
They dance in furious abandon
Across the countryside or cities
Sometimes leaving nothing standin.
There is no place they cannot go
In every nook and cranny
They will toss the drifts of snow
As the winds of March blow.
Like an unwelcome guest they arrive
We are held prisoner in their grasp
Praying that our treasures will survive
Begging that Spring will stifle it's gasp.
Only the strength and beauty of Spring
Can tame the winds of March
To cause the rivers and little brooks to sing
Washing away winters harsh.
Forgiving earth awakens the flowers to bloom
As Spring does send March winds to their doom
Chasing away the wintry doldrums and gloom.
