Music Box Dancer
Upon the shelf in my room
Sits an old friend in darkened gloom
Enclosed in her tiny little room
Until I open the lid and see her dance and twirl
She never holds a grudge when I stay away to long
This little friend , this tiny little girl
Sweet are the notes of her little song
Her cheerful little hearts sings all the while
Many times she made me giggle and smile
Brightened my day or my night
Made me happy and made me glad
Whenever opened she pops into my sight
Bringing memories of days of delight
When Mama would sit her beside my bed
And turn on my nightlight
After my prayers I had said
The music would play on and on
As off into dreams I went
To play with the Angels that
Heaven had sent
